Courtshop is now online!

January 6, 2011

So excited to announce that my favorite NYC soho boutique, Court, just launched an online shop. Nicole and Lisa are my total go-to whenever i’m in need of a new article of clothing. they have impeccable taste in clothes and always carry things that you can’t find anywhere else in NYC. they recently launched their own Court label jeans, and they are hott hott hott.  i am very proud that Jené DeSpain jewelry has been a part of Court since the beginning and i am so excited that it’s now available through their website. Check out this story that Styled On wrote about the new shop: http://www.styledon.com/fashion/features/articles/for-cool-girls-only-court-gets-digital

Jené DeSpain jewelry now available at Refinery 29!

October 21, 2010

in the land of the world wide webosphere, there are so many fashion blogs and online shops that it can feel a lil daunting. where is one to find the latest news, and which boutique has the hottest stuff?

um, hello.

Refinery 29.

if it’s happening in NYC, LA, or anywhere in the fashion world, Refinery 29 will tell you about it first. i adore the tidbits they share with their readers all day long and love all of the gorgeous designer pieces they sell through their shop. i’ve been a big fan for years. i hate to admit it, but i probably read Refinery 29 as much as i read the NYTimes, which is pretty much all day, every day.

so with all of my adoration, i was super excited to wake up this morning to discover that Refinery 29 has started selling my new Black Honey collection!!! they feature Thistle and Clover, a pretty pretty pretty boutique in brooklyn, on their site and are carrying JDS through Thistle and Clover’s shop!

all my thanks to the amazing team at Refinery 29 and a very special thank you to the lovely ladies of Thistle & Clover. ♥♥♥

Let the Summer Fashion Parties Begin!

June 6, 2010

one of my favorite things about NYC summers are the evening fashion events sprinkled throughout each week’s calendar. a party here, a party there. a soiree in soho, a dj spinning at an anniversary  in williamsburg, a new opening in the L.E.S., and prosecco as far as the eye can see. in addition to all day music concerts on the williamsburg waterfront and free movies in Bryant Park, this array of fashion events gives every girl perfect opportunities to show off her new summer apparel. i kicked off the sultry night celebrations this first week of June on thursday at Oak’s opening party honoring Obey’s new collection and then headed over to Charlie & Sam for their 1 year anniversary party. Oak has the most amazing array of hand dyed tank tops, and i highly recommend checking out Samantha Pleet’s new dresses and jumpsuits at Charlie & Sam.

on friday night, i bounced over to Court’s soho shop to give my ladies, Nicole and Lisa, big hugs and sip on the Crystal Head vodka/lemonade mixers they were serving up all night. Crystal Head is dan aykroyd’s vodka company, and he was super cool to donate some of the beautiful skull shaped bottles of his delicious vodka for Court’s yummy drinks. on saturday, a few of my wonderful friends came into the city from Boston for a visit, and we went over to check out the new Renegade Craft Fair in williamsburg’s McCarren Park. over 300 indie artists from the NE came to set up shop and show off their wares over the weekend. all in all, it was a great start to summer parties. now the only question is, what will i get to wear out and about next week?

JDS Jewelry at the New Limelight Marketplace

May 12, 2010

this last weekend the new Limelight Marketplace opened in Chelsea with much anticipation. for those of us that partied in this old cathedral as kids, it has been a long wait to discover the new fancy digs for this gothic NYC landmark. i am delighted to report – the place is amazing. every detail from the gorgeous black and white interior (my personal favorite choice of color palate) with sharp wallpaper and shiny tiled floors to the decision to keep the old stained glass windows gives this new shopping center a chic, modern atmosphere that will make you want to stay and linger in its beauty for hours. my favorite boutique in the market is Old Hollywood! operated by a great group of savvy, foxy ladies with owner Tiffany Porter at the wheel, Old Hollywood is the best shop in the market not only because they sell the most fabulous merchandise (locally made jewelry, including mine), but they are also the only independent shop in Limelight. so the next time you find yourself needing the perfect gift for yourself or someone you love, skip on over to the market and immerse yourself into a world of pretty decadence. and be sure to tell the girls at Old Hollywood that i say hello!

The Barclay at Sir

Savoy Plaza Necklace w/ Black Tourmaline & Brass Spikes

Guess which necklace is adorning the lovely window mannequin at Sir’s Williamsburg boutique? The Barclay! i was so excited to walk by and see one of my favorite pieces from the Roaring 10’s collection sparklin in the sunshine. if you haven’t been yet, Sir is a great place to shop while in Williamsburg. Right on Bedford Ave. and N. 10th, Sir is the brilliant creation of Joanna Baum. Stop in to find the full Roaring 10’s collection, as well as stunning dresses made by Joanna.
